At the southern tip of Koh Lanta Yai, Mu Ko Lanta National Park offers a beautiful escape into the island’s wild and scenic side. Just 15 minutes from Pimalai, this protected coastal landscape is home to the iconic Koh Lanta Lighthouse, lush tropical forest, nature trails and panoramic views across the Andaman Sea.
What to See
The highlight is the Koh Lanta Lighthouse at Laem Tanod, one of the island’s most recognisable landmarks. From the viewpoint, look out across two contrasting coastlines, with the lighthouse standing between them.
On one side, a rugged rocky coastline meets the Andaman Sea, while the other opens onto a peaceful sandy beach framed by tropical greenery. This striking contrast offers two distinct coastal landscapes within the same viewpoint.
For a closer look at the park’s natural surroundings, continue along the Nature Trail, winding through tropical vegetation and rugged terrain. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including dusky langurs that inhabit the forest.

When to Visit
The park is open daily from 08:30–17:30. Morning or late afternoon is recommended for a more comfortable walk and beautiful natural light.
Allow around 1 – 2 hours to explore the lighthouse and nature trail. Comfortable walking shoes, drinking water, sun protection and insect repellent are recommended.
